BROILED BARBECUE SAUCE BURGERS

Burgers:
1 pound ground chicken or ground turkey
1 egg
1 tablespoon parsley
¼ cup saltine crackers, crushed
2 tablespoons Homemade Barbecue Sauce

Homemade Barbecue Sauce:
1 cup ketchup
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
¼ teaspoon paprika
¼ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon black pepper

Toppings:
sliced tomatoes
sliced onion
lettuce

• To make barbecue sauce: In a small bowl, using a whisk, combine all ingredients until well mixed.
• To make burgers: Preheat oven on broil. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients until well blended. Shape into four patties. Place in a 13 by 9 inch baking pan lined with foil. Top each burger with 1 heaping tablespoon of barbecue sauce, and spread evenly. Broil for 7 to 8 minutes, and then remove from oven. Flip burgers and add remaining barbecue sauce. Broil another 7 to 8 minutes until burgers are done and no pink remains.
• Serve barbecued burgers on grilled buns or grilled English muffins. Top with tomato, onion and lettuce if desired.
• Makes 4 servings.
